Communication Faculty and Student Leaders Represent TSU at the 11th Paragala Award 2024

The TSU Department of Communication and the Communicators’ Guild made their appearance at the PARAGALA Award Ceremony Evening, a prestigious award-giving body that recognizes the distinct contributions of media practitioners in our country.

The event was held last Friday, December 6, 2024, at the Holy Angel University Auditorium. It was attended by members of the communication faculty led by Chairperson Asst. Prof. Maria Joyce Nucum, together with Asst. Prof. Nerisa Olarte and Mr. Derich Bognot. Joining them were the two heads of the student organization, President Romer Madrid and Vice-President Kathlene Manipon.

As the awarding proceeded across various categories, esteemed faculty member Mr. Derich Bognot presented the award for the category Paragala Panglingkod Bayan: Eye of the Nation – News Television Program. Competing in the category were TV Patrol, 24 Oras, Balitanghali, and Unang Balita. Once again, 24 Oras claimed the Eye of the Nation Award.

Through their participation in the event, the Communication Department, together with the student organization, reaffirmed their continuous drive to shape communicators to standards that meet and compete with other universities. Communicators remain at the frontline, using their voices to mobilize the nation into action. With voice and strength as their foundation, they continue to resolve conflicts, carry truth, and spark solidarity.
