BackTSU delegates, Mr. Romer Madrid together with Asst. Prof. Maria Fermina Joyce C. Nucum, student and faculty member from the Department of Communication, College of Arts and Social Sciences exhibits and centered to strenghten the Student-Teacher Academic Mobility in the recently concluded 34th edition of Virtual COMMTech Nusantra 2024: Wonderful Folk Tales Indonesia via Zoom.
The 34th edition of Virtual COMMTech Nusantra 2024: Wonderful Folk Tales Indonesia held from June 24 to July 5, 2024, it aims to explore the culture, traditions, historical heritage and common identities that strengthen connection and cultural understanding through folk tales among universities in the world. It embraces and demonstrate the commitment to technology and community of the ITS or commonly known as Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopembe that build relations with various universities across the country to offer and introduce its practices and involvement in aspect of research and technology.
Simultaneously, students from various universities around the world collaborated in a two-week program to explore Indonesia's culture and traditions, taking part in virtual activities, and enhancing their knowledge about Indonesia. Students had the opportunity to explore Fun Bahasa, take historical tours of Surabaya, uncover captivating folk tales, and have meaningful discussions.
Furthermore, promoting a holistic understanding of cultures, embracing one's own identity, and developing cultural perspectives through the use of social knowledge and skills. The program made an avenue for students to have meaningful discussion with their creative posters that depict their experiences in 2 weeks program of Nusantra along with other participants where different perspectives, cultures, traditions, and identities are bound together strengthening connections and cultural understanding.
Mr. Romer Madrid, representative of Tarlac State University and student of the Department of Communication centered his discussion with his poster that explained his journey in which he stated that, "We are here for one goal where we communicate to demonstrate mutual respect and engage through positive intercultural behavior. Embracing the rich culture of Indonesia and fostering the diverse cross-cultural understanding. Cultivating cultural perspectives through social knowledge and skills."
Mr. Ezra conveyed his message on the last day of program by urging the participants to use all the lessons learned and incorporate their experiences in their future endeavors.
Concluding the 34th edition of Virtual COMMTech Nusantra 2024: Wonderful Folk Tales Indonesia with a photo opportunity and awarding of winners and special recognitions where Mr. Tristan Jay Imbang, student from University of Southern Mindanao was awarded as Best Participant and extend her words of gratitude on behalf of the participants.
