BackAsst. Prof. Maricor Cheska Santos actively took part in the Communi-Action: Seminar-Workshop on Enhancing Social Communication Skills for Seminarians, held on March 22, 2024 at the Our Lady of Peace College Seminary. The extension initiative aimed to strengthen the social communication competencies of seminarians as they prepare for their future roles in ministry.
Asst. Prof. Santos shared her expertise in effective interpersonal and public communication. Through this outreach activity, she extended her academic knowledge beyond the classroom, guiding seminarians in understanding the value of clear, purposeful, and compassionate communication in pastoral work.
A central component of the workshop focused on improving clarity, coherence, and delivery in verbal communication. Asst. Prof. Santos guided seminarians in structuring their ideas logically and delivering messages with appropriate tone, pacing, and volume.
Interactive drills and simulated scenarios allowed participants to practice delivering prepared manuscripts while applying proper gestures and vocal techniques.
Through this extension project, the Communication faculty contributed meaningfully to the holistic formation of seminarians. By sharing her expertise and facilitating hands-on learning, she reinforced the importance of empathy, clarity, and responsible communication—core values essential in both ministry and community leadership.
