BackThe Department of Education-Tarlac City Schools Division successfully conducted the District Schools Press Conference (DSPC) on January 28, 2025, at Montessori School, bringing together young campus journalists from public and private schools across the division. Mr. Michael John R. Hipolito, a faculty member from the College of Arts and Social Sciences – Department of Communication, was invited as one of the judges, lending his expertise in evaluating student entries.
The conference featured a variety of competitions, including news writing, feature writing, editorial writing, sports writing, photojournalism, and broadcasting. Participants had the opportunity to showcase their journalistic talents and refine their skills under the guidance of experienced journalists, media practitioners, and DepEd officials serving as trainers and judges.
Outstanding campus journalists and school publications were recognized for their exemplary performance at the conclusion of the conference. Top winners earned the opportunity to advance to the Regional Schools Press Conference (RSPC), representing their schools and bringing pride to the entire Tarlac City Schools Division.
By participating as a judge, the Communication Department faculty contributed to fostering journalistic excellence, media literacy, and ethical reporting among young learners, reinforcing the College’s commitment to extension service and community engagement in educational development.
