BackIn honor of Indigenous Peoples (IP) Month 2024, TSU Project Aytalakad Ing Lahi held AYTALIGSAHAN: Malikhaing Paligsahan ng Ayta Mag-Anchi para sa Pagpapanatili ng Kultura on October 31 in Sitio Manabayukan, Capas, Tarlac.
The celebration, organized in partnership with JCI Victoria and JCI Tarlac City, showcased the vibrant traditions of the Ayta Mag-Anchi community through competitions in traditional dance, cooking, Citizen’s photography, slogan writing, and poetry.
Communication Faculty Ms. Angel Saludez, Jay Ann Pablo and Mr. Derich Bognot, along with students, actively joined the festivities, providing technical assistance and assisting in photo and video documentation to capture the event.
Participants performed traditional dances in costumes made from fabric generously donated by Delmar Modiste Supplies.
Additional support came from a guitar gifted by Mr. OJ Mariano and brownies from Bubu Bake, which added a personal touch to the celebration.
The Tarlac PDRRMO ensured smooth logistics by providing transportation, and US Peace Corps Volunteers contributed to cultural exchange and community engagement.
With further support from sponsors like Don Bosco Technical Institute – Tarlac, the event served as a heartfelt tribute to the Ayta Mag-Anchi heritage, promoting greater appreciation and awareness of their unique cultural identity.
