BackEarlier this week, TSUians flocked with excitement as the CommHub activity, spearheaded by the Tarlac State University (TSU) Communicators' Guild (CG), formally opened, showcasing a variety of foods and products alongside of Smith Hall Building, on October 14-17.
The event showcased the creativity, artistry, and entrepreneurial spirit of Communication Arts students through their very own 'Comm-owned' brands on the university's 119th Foundation Week Celebration.
Featuring colorful collections of handcrafted goodies, customized designs made with different aesthetics, and mouthwatering innovative treats from the following ComMates: Dear Diary Creations by Paula Mae Dungo, Iya's Handmade Haven by Sadiya Rei Espino, Nanineens by Nina Soriano, Printiful Creation by Aviona Lyn Cabigas, A.K.D.A. by Ashtin, Kimberly, Dlada, and Ashley, Crave N' Bites by Azel Joy Duquesa, Bouquets by Drew, and Knot Aecel by Jocel Rempillo.
Mx. Lois Quinocho, President of Communicators’ Guild, shared that the event showcased how Communication students can merge creativity with strategy.
“Bilang Communication students, nakapaloob sa curriculum natin ang Advertising Principles and Practices, na kung saan mapag-aaralan natin dito ang mga angkop na strategies na nakalinya sa pagbebenta at pagpo-promote ng mga businesses at services,” they said.
They also highlighted the importance of supporting local student entrepreneurs. “Cliché man, but it’s true— we have to support local businesses,” they said. “Ang dami nating madidiskarteng estudyante sa TSU. They just need a space to show how creative they can be.”

For many Comm students, their small businesses began as simple hobbies that eventually evolved into platforms for self-expression and growth. “What started as a hobby, ginawa ko siyang way para mag-express ng creativity and at the same time, mag-earn ng extra income.” shared by Aviona Lyn Cabigas, one of the Communication Entrepreneurs (CommPreneurs).
“Mahilig na talaga ako sa mga cute, aesthetic, at unique na bagay lalo na yung mga handcrafted or personalized items. Halos araw-araw ako nanonood ng TikTok at YouTube videos na gumagawa ng sarili nilang stickers, keychains, tapos naisip ko,“Why not try ko rin?” she added.
From her simple interest in arts and crafts, Cabigas turned her passion into Printiful Creation, a small brand that highlights her eye for design and love for personalized items.
As the week-long celebration ended, the CommHub wrapped up with laughter and lasting memories. What started as an initiative to showcase student businesses grew into a meaningful experience that inspired others to explore their own creative passions.
