Comm Department and TSU Comm Guild attends 11th Paragala Awarding Ceremony

The TSU Department of Communication and Communicators’ Guild made their appearance at the PARAGALA award ceremony evening, a prestigious award-giving body that recognizes the distinct contributions of media practitioners in our country. It was attended by a few of the members of the communication faculty led by the chairperson Asst. Prof. Maria Joyce Nucum, followed by Asst. Prof. Nerisa Olarte, and Mr. Derich Bognot. Accompanying them are the two heads of the student organization, President Romer Madrid and Vice-President Kathlene Manipon.

The award night happened on December 6, 2024, at the Holy Angel University Auditorium. As the awarding proceeded on the various categories, our esteemed faculty member, Mr. Derich Bognot has done the presentation of the award on the category of Paragala Panglingkod Bayan: Eye of the Nation - News Television Program. Competing in the categories are TV Patrol, 24 Oras, Balitanghali, and Unang Balita, and once again claiming the award on the Eye of the Nation Award is 24 Oras.

In this event that the Communication Department together with the student organization attended, we are in continuous drive to shape the communicators to the standards that will meet with other universities. Communicators are on the frontline to use their voices to mobilize a nation to start an action. For voice and strength is what we have— an ability that continue to resolve conflicts, carries truth, and spark solidarity.
