The Tarlac State University of Arts and Social Science Communication Department and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) successfully launched the audio-visual presentation for the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) project. The CEST project, an innovative program of the DOST, aims to utilize science and technology to uplift marginalized communities by addressing their unique needs and aspirations. The event, held at Sitio Dueg, San Clemente, Tarlac, showcased the power of digital storytelling to amplify local narratives and foster community development.

TSU-CASS was spearheaded by Ms. Maria Fermina Joyce C. Nucum, Communication Department Chairperson, along with Expert Service Providers: Dr. Raffy S. Aganon, Prof. Jazzel Llaneli M. Manabat, Mr. Marco Polo M. Flores, Mr. Jovito Z. Taruc, Mr. John H. Lanuzo, Mr. Mark Alyson A. Madriaga, Mr. Derich D. Bognot, and Ms. Liana Faith Q. De Leon; while DOST Tarlac was spearheaded by Ms. Nikki Dyan C. Padilla, Supervising SRS, PSTO-Tarlac, along with Ms. Cristina Isla, Mr. Adonis Tababa, and the DOST Pampanga Media Team.
The project, which commenced on September 17 & 30, 2024, to October 1-3, 2024, aimed to capture the daily lives, traditions, and sustainable practices of the Aeta community. Through interviews, visuals, and authentic storytelling, the film documented their deep connection to nature and the innovative ways they produce traditional crafts and agricultural products.
A heartfelt documentary showcasing the vibrant life and unique products of the Aeta community in Sitio Dueg has been awarded first place in the Department of Science and Technology Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) competition. This achievement sets the stage for the documentary to compete at the national level, highlighting the rich cultural heritage of the Aeta people.

The successful completion of the audio-visual presentation marks a significant milestone for the TSU Communication Department and the DOST CEST project. Plans are underway to expand the initiative's scope, hoping to empower more communities using digital storytelling and engage more people.
