Tarlac State University Department of Communication in collaboration with the TSU Communicators’ Guild hosted an extension activity for Jose V. Yap National High School grade 12 Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS) students to introduce opportunities in taking the communication program held at the Theater Room, Smith Hall Building, yesterday, December 4.
Mr. Nel Aranzaso, the organization’s Hosting Team Head, led the program, starting with the introduction of the Communication Department faculty.
Moreover, Mr. Michael John Hipolito discussed the enhanced program curriculum of the department, highlighting the key courses to take in completing the program. He also highlighted a variety of communication activities, including EdukCircle, CommResCon, GIA, CMMA, and practical courses that involve immersion of the students.
Additionally, audiovisual outputs of the students who are currently taking the Public Relations and Practices course were also presented to share a glimpse of what the program offers to the students.
Mr. Romer Madrid, the organization’s president, shared notable activities and events that will be conducted and have been conducted for the students. He also underscored the awards and recognition received by the department.
Subsequently, the present team heads at the event, Ms. Heleina Quesada, Journalism Team Head; Mr. John Christian Talavera, Production Team Head; and Mr. Nel Aranzaso, Hosting Assistant Team Head, tackled what it takes to be a communication student, emphasizing the improvement they have acquired in taking the communication program.
Mr. Gerald C. Pascua, Action Plan Proponent, expressed his experiences as an alumnus of the department and enunciated his gratitude for catering to their students in the extension activity.
The program concluded with a tour of the Firefox Radio station facility led by Mr. Hipolito through providing a live demonstration of the radio room and a quick broadcast air with Mr. Pascua, giving the students a firsthand experience of broadcasting.
