BackBinibining Kanlahi 2026 Jean Grai De Jesus visited the TSU 87.5 Firefox Radio studio to share her pageant journey and preparations for future competitions.
The interview highlighted her return to the Binibining Kanlahi stage and her transition from a previous runner-up to the titleholder, as well as her plans to represent Tarlac in national stage.
De Jesus, who represented Tarlac City in the 2026 edition, won the Binibining Kanlahi crown after placing 1st runner-up in 2024, when she represented the municipality of Anao.
During the interview, she said her decision to join the pageant was partly motivated by her personal goal of building a house, which she has been working toward in recent years.
She also discussed her preparations for the national stage, including undergoing training in pasarela and communication skills as she aims to compete in Miss Universe Philippines.
De Jesus shared that her advocacy has shifted from promoting quality education to focusing on environmental conservation through education, emphasizing the importance of raising awareness on environmental protection.
When asked about pressure following the achievements of previous titleholders, she said she does not feel pressured and instead focuses on enjoying the experience.
She described herself as courageous and persistent, adding that she believes she has more to offer beyond the competition.
De Jesus is currently a third-year communication student at Tarlac State University. She said that maintaining proper communication with her professors helps her balance her academic responsibilities and pageant commitments.
